I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Slalom (New York, NY) in Jul 2015
Interview
My interview started with a phone call about my LinkedIn profile. Casual and conversational, mainly about what I do, like, dislike etc. and my openness to try consulting. I was impressed by the recruiter's knowledge about the team, subject matter, and day to day work. I wasn't immediately looking to change jobs, but I was open to meeting someone on the team for a chat in person. That turned into another visit to the office to meet another expert, then the practice lead. It's such a great group of people - smart, talented people. After learning more, I ended up asking for a position in a particular practice, attended a formal final interview, and got an offer. It was such an organic and pressure-free process.

Question 1
What is your favorite/least favorite part of what you do today?
Mostly standard consulting interview questions: ask about your past work experience, what were the difficulties and how you overcame these difficulties, etc. Overall process took a little bit longer than expected due to difficulty to get interviewers' availability.
Recruiter screening focused on background and fit, followed by a hiring manager interview assessing technical and consulting skills, and a final director round evaluating strategic thinking, communication, and overall alignment.
I applied online. I interviewed at Slalom (Santa Monica, CA) in Aug 2025
Interview
Initial HR interview then interview with hiring manager and then never heard again from the company. Reached out multiple times for follow up on whether moving forward or not, and never got a response. Job posting still on.
