Here are the most commonly searched roles for interview reports -
1. Recruiter screening 2. Technical screening 3. Technical deep dive
I had a recruiter screening, then technical screening, then was contacted 2 weeks later to wait for 2 weeks before scheduling the next interview. Then after 3-4 weeks they scheduled the next round.
At the technical deep dive, the interviewer didn't know who I was and made me go find my resume to send it to him. He then asked me extremely specific live coding problems on concepts I'd only ever use in college then afterward asked "oh wait I forgot to ask, how comfortable are you in this language" for which I wasn't as comfortable in.
Afterward, we did some system design but he kept going down rabbit holes of specific encryption algorithms and network layers rather than give room to talk about the larger architecture we were trying to design.
This was a disorganized interview process and felt borderline disrespectful to my time.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Sent me a google doc: Code a singleton in C# and write an if statement comparing that they're actually singletons
Not too difficult. All questions were what you would expect. A few rounds with the hiring manager, and others from the team / umbrella which included a case study. The prompt was given with a few different options and fairly simple to deliver.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Slalom in Oct 2024
Interview
Four separate 30 minute interviews. Each with a different individual. Each interview was supposed to be focused on one thing like culture or technical skills, but in reality the interviewers did what they wanted.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Slalom
Interview
Very friendly, multiple screeners with people in the local office (over zoom). They'll ask about any consulting experience, but mostly want to get to know you as a person. Just be yourself.
