The interview was quite long but very conversational, and the nature and structure of the SSRC was made very clear to me: I felt like the interview panel was engaged with my presence as a potential candidate. It was nice to have this time with them to also gain insight as to how they operate and what they are looking for. I was not successful in the job search, but the discussion seemed like they had paid close and considered attention to my application. Questions they asked certainly gave me the impression they had read my proposals closely and were weighing how I would or might not fit into their goals.
I will say, however, the interview result process was very long, and it look nearly a month to hear if I would progress to second interview. Trying to check-in with HR, I was met with delays, and then finally the rejection email. Upon asking for advice, I again was stone-walled: I understand it is not policy to disclose the 'hiring process' but it seems a few minutes of discussion around the strengths and weaknesses of my application (not what they said about me and who got the job!) would not be so difficult? Especially after weeks working on the application itself.
Seems like a great organization with creative people and thinkers, but their HR needs some PR improvement.
