      Interview

-Codility test -A short chat/interview with your future team. I was rejected at this step, there are four other steps. If you are a senior developer/designer/architect etc., do not waste your time with junior-level interviewers. I think they are not looking for an experienced developer.

      C# Developer Interview

      Feb 1, 2023
      Anonymous employee
      Geneva
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Sonar (Geneva) in Oct 2022

      Interview

A recruiter from Sonar contacted me via LinkedIn. I went through 5 rounds of interviews in 4-5 weeks. 1st round (Initial Interview): a recruiter and a developer interviewed me on Zoom. It was about my career milestones, motivations, and Sonar's company culture. There were a few questions related to computer science and programming. 2nd round (Technical Video Interview): I was interviewed on Zoom by a C# developer from the team I was applying to. He first asked me about basic concepts of the C# language and the .NET runtime. Then we solved a simple coding exercise together. We used Google Docs as a code editor rather than an IDE. 3rd round (Onsite Technical Interview): this took place in the company's office. A flight and a room at the airport hotel were booked for me. So I flew to Geneva, and on the next day, I went to Sonar's headquarters for the next two rounds. The technical interview lasted about 3 hours and was conducted by two developers. I was given a task I had to complete in 3 sprints using my own laptop and development tools. My interviewers checked the code I wrote each time. This task included unit testing, as well as drawing on a whiteboard. It was easily the most fun part of the interviewing process. It felt like going to a nice coffee shop/pub and solving an interesting puzzle with some friends. The interviewers were very helpful. Once we were done, I was invited for lunch with two other engineers from different teams at a pizza restaurant. 4th round (People and Culture Team): this was done on the same day in the Geneva office as the previous round. It was the part I dreaded the most, but the interviewer was friendly and helpful. She read a list of prepared questions about attitudes, behaviors, and my past experiences during my career. It took about 1.5 hours. 5th round (CEO interview): this was an online interview I had with the company's CEO on Zoom. It lasted 30 minutes. It was mostly about salary expectations and when I could start if I received an offer. And there was more than enough time for me to ask my questions as well. It was also a very friendly conversation.

      Interview

I applied on LinkedIn. I had 30 minutes call with HR and then 1 hour technical interview. The interviewer asked me average c# questions, I listed them below. Then he gave me small coding task. I think I answered those questions correctly and solved the coding task. But few hours later I got a negative feedback, they said my english isn't good enough. Fortunately, I didn't expect anything from this interview because I have read the glassdoor reviews, so it did not hurt my self-confidence:)
