      Regional Manager Interview

      Mar 30, 2015
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Neutral experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Sonder in Jan 2015

      Interview

I applied through a local job board posting for a City Manager position. In the first interview I was told that this position requires a robust real estate background and I would be more qualified for their Regional Manager position which is part time and still paid very well. After I agreed to continue the process with this second position we scheduled a second phone call. The next day I had a phone call to explain my skillset and why I would be a good candidate for this position. It was there I learned that this was an internship position and I explained that I am no longer in school and am looking for a paid job. This was not going to be a problem and after a few more light questions about my background, we scheduled a skype interview with a second manager. In my skype interview I was asked the same questions as the first phone call including what university I currently attend and when I expect to graduate. After explaining again that I am looking for a paid position and I feel this internship may not be a fit, I was reassured that this is paid. I was then given a basic research assignment of the rental climate in my City and asked to make a 4 minute pitch video 'selling myself' to the rest of the team. After finishing all the assignments I was asked to sign a contract called "The Flatbook Promise" agreeing to be honest with my manager and was given the job offer.

      Interview

After I sent tmy CV I was contacted for a first 5 to 10 min phone call. After that I was contacted for a 30 min skype call, then they asked me to a marketing plan (so they get some help on how to market and promote the brand, very smart) and a 3 min video pitch in which you convince them to hire you,you talk about the city you are supposed to work in and a play role of the main responsibility of the job which is primarely but not limited to find apartment into the subletting program. I think the recruiter did not have any experiences in recruit candidates,in fact they were in the position of global team managers and.
