The left hand doesn't know what the right hand wants.
I spent 2-3 weeks interviewing with the team. The hiring manager reached out directly to me, as apparently their HR team is stretched thin. We spoke on a couple of occasions, and then I spoke with a potential colleague. During this entire process, nobody could tell me exactly what this role would entail. All I was told, on more than one occasion, was that the job description was a blanket job description, but it didn't comprehensively lay out what they were looking for. In truth, it didn't seem like the job description aligned with anything they were looking for.
I'm not upset that it wasn't a good fit. I'm upset that it took several rounds of interviews over multiple weeks, some directly with the hiring manager, to figure this out. It wasn't until the final interview with the director that it was ultimately decided this wasn't a good fit. It was then proposed that I start the entire process over again for other positions on the team.
