I applied through other source. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Sonic (Highland, UT) in Feb 2012
Interview
I called and asked if they were hiring, the manager said that they were and invited me to an interview the following week in the morning before the place opened. I arrived at my designated time to find myself locked out. After a bit of knocking, the assistant manager finally came and let me in, and the manager finally remembered that she had an interview to attend to.
We just sat at one of the booths and the manager asked me basic interview questions, if I was planning on graduating high school, and also a few random ones, such as my favorite color.
Afterwords, the manager said that she really liked me and put a star at the top of my application. She said she would be in touch the following week for a second interview. However, she never called, and I eventually just found another job.

Super easy, practically just hired me on the spot. I was hired because of my consistency checking if there were positions. Just show good traits and be a little lucky and you shouldn't have a difficulty.
