applied online. called one day later, however they did not leave a msg. i called back, and found out it was sonics manager, requesting an interview with me for a cook position. I went for my first interview dressed in a nice oxford shirt and kaki slacks, dress shoe. basically how you would dress for church. When i arrived i was greeted by a carhop and asked if i would like anything to drink, told to wait outside for the manager. I sat for approx 20+ minutes for the manager. Im not sure if this was a test, or if he was unprepared. after working there for 4 months i can say it was because he wa unprepared.
The interview was short and friendly. The manager (operating partner they are called), asked me several format questions, describe a circumstance where you provided good customer service, how would you handle a difficult customer situation, would you be willing to stay late and work if needed, would you report theft, and so on.
I aced the interview, by answering all the questions quickly and making direct eye contact. We even joked for a bit about certain circumstances and so on.
I was told to come back for a second interview with an assistant manager, which after working there i realize basically means you have the job, you just have to be interviewed twice per company policy, and if the assistant manager likes you and thinks you will make a good fit to the team, you will be offered a job that day.
second interview was more of the same, standard interview questions with a 1-3 star rating. 3 being a good answer and 1 being bad. so during your interview if you see them writing 3's next to your answers, thats a good thing.
