Sony Interactive Entertainment interview questions

Have been in the industry and technology for 20+ years, this was by far the worst candidate experience I've ever had. Whomever the CPO/Head of Recruitment is, you need to spend time to figure out what isn't working and fix that because there are a lot of people looking for work but you let the managers and staff down by doing a very poor job. Timeline Applied: September 9th First interview: September 17th Second Interview: September 24th Third Interview: October 3rd Forth Interview: October 4th Fifth Interview: October 24th Last point of feedback: November 18th (after saying I was not really interested any more, and recruiter saw I had picked up a new job) You make the industry look very bad and uncoordinated. Additionally if you have follow up questions, don't have the recruiter, after 5 weeks of waiting, ask if you (the candidate) are still interested, then follow up with bad feedback to make me the bad guy, right after saying 'all the interviews went well, we're in a holding pattern'. To add insult to injury one of your 'hiring committee' leaked the other candidates name to which I asked him how he felt things are going, and he was more confused about the entire thing than I was, and he wanted to pass on you too! Note - I was also a referral, and he felt so embarrassed that I genuinely felt bad for him saying its ok, the team was who let us both down.

First steps were a Recruiter screen followed by Hiring Manager interview. These were very positive and I felt like I had a good idea of the role and how I could fit within the team if successful. Next was a take-home business case test involving SQL. This was an interesting exercise and after compiling an analysis and associated insights, I submitted the results and was advised that I'd passed through to the technical interview round. I then had an interview that went more in-depth on my experience and how it would apply to the team, in addition to a discussion of the take-home task and some situational questions, plus a few SQL live coding exercises. This stage felt a little unusual as I felt the first topic (my experience and how it'd benefit the team) was already covered off in the hiring manager interview, although I can understand why they wanted to cover off the other topics. Additionally, one of the interviewers seemed to give the impression that they didn't believe what I was saying, or weren't happy with how I was addressing the technical questions/exercise. The other interviewer was very professional however. I was then scheduled in for a (5th) interview 'to go over more day to day situations and dig deeper in to the scope of work'. Given that the prior stage had been more technical in nature, the agenda described this as a behavioural interview, however it turned out to be a pure SQL live coding test (which didn't make sense, given the number of prior technical tests I'd undertaken previously). Also, the previous interviewer (who didn't seem to like how I was answering the technical questions) was again present, along with the Hiring Manager (who again, was very professional). I was advised after the interview that I wasn't successful - I asked for feedback but it felt like it was for another candidate as one of the statements was incorrect (they advised I didn't have experience of an area they were looking for - not only did I talk in detail about that area of experience in one of the later interviews, but it was also mentioned on my CV and discussed during my Hiring Manager interview). I asked for more clarity around this area (as I knew it wasn't correct) and the recruiter advised they'd asked the team for context but despite chasing multiple times, I didn't receive any further response. All in all - a positive initial experience until the last but one interview, which rapidly became a negative experience due to the behaviour of one of the interviewers, an incorrect agenda sent for the final interview, a failure to provide clear, relevant, actionable feedback, and a failure to respond to requests to clarify the initial feedback provided.
