I applied August 11, 2016. I had a phone interview shortly after. To prepare for the phone interview I wrote down every question asked here on Glass Door. She didn't ask a question that wasn't on this site. And I smiled when I was speaking the whole time. Two weeks later I got invited for a F2F in Dallas. I went in September. So the questions that follow below are questions that were asked in the F2F as best I could recall. I was having trouble finding good information on the F2F so that is why I am writing this up...for future FA. I was prepared to answer a lot of questions, but wasn't fully prepared to answer everything, which I think hurt me. I left the F2F with not a great feeling about how it went and I was correct, I got a thanks but no thanks email a few days later. You interview with about 16 or so other candidates that day. When you go back for your interview, you have a recruiter who takes notes on a computer and a flight attendant and a flight supervisor. They do make you feel comfortable and they are friendly, but it's still a job interview. Looking back to see what I could have done differently - I would have been prepared for very specific answers on questions like - name a time you had a difficult customer and how you handled it. I just blanked on that question. In my interview they didn't ask me anything about Herb or anything related to old school SW. Many of my questions were very customer service related - name specific situations and how you handled them. So my best advice is to write down all questions you read on Glass Door and then have answers in your head for all of them. Part of me feels as though I let some of the other people's experiences interviewing at SW influence me ... so for me that meant that I felt they were really looking for a personality and that even if I didn't nail all answers, my personality would shine and they would see that. And I feel like yes, they are looking for a personality but they also want great answers for all the questions. And I know legally they can't say this influenced their decision, but some of my letters of recommendation mentioned my children and my family did come up in the interview, so having younger kids could have worked against me too, even though they can't put that in my HR notes. But those other 16 people in the room are competition - meaning the 3 people I met with that day probably interviewed 3 other candidates. And maybe after the day was over they said I was ok, but X and Y were great, so let's hire X & Y. And also X & Y are single and 25... So I will never really know why they passed on me, but if I apply again and make it back to another F2F I will be really prepared for answers to all questions and try and not bring up my family at all.
