Interview
During my interview I was shocked by the adolescent responses voiced by my interviewer--a complete bimbo--who obviously must be someone's niece as it could not be possible that she is in any way qualified to evaluate or judge a prospective new employee over the phone. Here’s how our conversation began: Following a brief and friendly introduction, I was asked to respond to a few questions with either a yes or no answer. First question: “You are applying for a Customer Service Position at XYZ airport?” from which I replied “Yes.” Immediately following my reply, the interviewer responded with a resounding “A W E S O M E.” Next question; “You will be paid $x/hour for the first year and ….., are you okay with that?” “Yes” I replied, and again I was met with an ear popping “A W E S O M E” and it continued. By the third question I took the phone from my ear and scratched my head wondering if I was speaking to a high school kid working part time or just some airhead.
Never have I experienced anything like it during an interview, and frankly I was turned off by this person from the first response. During our entire conversation I was wondering if this was simply a test of my people skills so I stayed on the line. I remained courteous, polite and upbeat as I answered the questions to the best of my ability. Just to let you know, I was NOT selected for the next round of interviews. Could it have been that I didn’t echo the same resounding remark with every answer, I’ll never know?
I would be incredibly discouraged to learn that my interviewer had any input at all on the decision as to whether I was qualified to perform the job for which I applied. A phone call to my present employer would be more than enough proof to learn that I am certainly capable of performing the duties. As I am not accustomed to following up interviews in such a negative tone, I simply wanted to make others aware of my experience.

Interview
The interview was a very casual meet and greet. Several HR employees were sitting at different tables casually asking questions to potential candidates. If the HR Rep was interested, he had you speak to another one of his colleagues. From that point, if they both gave you the thumbs up, you were drug tested and finger-printed on the spot. A job offer came within ten days of that first and only interview.

Behavioral interview questions, know things about the company, have questions for the interviewer, smile smile smile. Have knowledge of the position expectations and qualifications. I would recommend STAR method answers and just be prepared and be yourself.

Interview
I had attended a hiring event and it was great, Southwest seems to be a great company. It took hours though, so if you plan on attending a hiring event held by Southwest, I'd plan a good 5 hours to be there. Show up dressed good, prepared for an interview. Take your resume.
