I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at SpaceX (Pensacola, FL) in May 2018
Interview
The interviewer called and asked about my experience and qualifications. Even though the entire phone screen was great in reference to my qualifications and professional experience, the interviewer disqualified me because I did not have a bachelors degree (even though their CEO loves to espouse how you don't need a degree to be successful and that that's not what they look for).
Phone call with a recruiter discussing SpaceX, its goals, my resume, professional experience, interest in the role, availability to work overtime, and ability to handle additional responsibilities when needed for the position.
