      Recruiting Coordinator Interview

      Oct 7, 2019
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      San Francisco, CA
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Spin (San Francisco, CA) in Sep 2019

      Interview

Phone screening with People Ops coordinator, on-site short 15 minute writing/scheduling test, interview with the recruiting team (2 recruiters, 2 tech recruiters, 2 people operations, and 1 recruiting coordinator). The team did not seem very experienced. A fresh, out of college recruiting coordinator was interviewing me and questioning my experiences when they LITERALLY barely know much about the work force. Lots of young recruiters that definitely worried me. If you're looking for people who are well-experienced to train you, do not apply here. If you're just looking to get your foot step into recruiting, then this might be the place for you especially for recent grads. But if you've had experience and want to grow/learn more, I definitely do not recommend working here as a recruiter.

      Recruiting Coordinator Interview

      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Spin

      Interview

Started with a phone screening with one of the recruiters, a take home test, then an onsite interview. The entire interview process was enjoyable and quick. My main huge negative was during the onsite interview. My last interview with the Recruiting Manager was extremely unenjoyable. She was dry, had and seemed bored and uninterested the entire interview from beginning to end. It was also obvious to me that she either did not review my resume, or just skimmed over it right before the interview. The first question she asked was for me to go over my work history 1 by 1, and tell her what I did at these jobs (which were jobs in Recruiting Coordination). The problem with this question is you can find all of this information on my resume! The way she asked her questions was extremely unclear and unorganized also. I do not think she prepared for the interview at all.

      Recruiting Coordinator Interview

      Nov 21, 2019
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      San Francisco, CA
      Declined offer
      Negative experience

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Spin (San Francisco, CA) in Nov 2019

      Interview

The process was fairly quick. But the interview was by far the worst interview I've ever had and probably the most awkward. Most of the individuals interviewing you are fresh out of college (most of which this being their first job) and not to mention the most tenured person that interviewed me has been with the company for 11 months. You start off with meeting someone in operations, then meet with two RC's, following that you meet with a senior recruiter and end it with the hiring manager (she was the oldest of all the people being in her mid-40s with everyone else no older than 24) You start off by doing a written test with someone which is common for an RC role but 9/10 they email you the test to complete prior to your interview. You do the interview with someone sitting in the room with you watching you type and asking you questions like "could you explain your thought process" as your typing! Then they tell you who your meeting with and end it with if all goes well you'll meet the VP pretty much saying if you don't meet the VP by the end your not getting hired. Overall it is a start-up that needs to bring in more experienced individuals to interview for these roles. I would not recommend working here unless you're desperate for a job.
