A typical Amazon-type behavioral-based interview process: It began with a recruiter screening, continued with a conversation with the hiring manager, and then an interview loop.
The recruiter went above and beyond with the scheduling and things moved really fast. After a couple of days, I had a 45mins interview with the hiring manager, who was more than willing to provide a lot of information. A few days after, I was contacted to schedule an onsite interview loop that included engineering team members, 2 PMs, UI/UX designer, and another conversation with the hiring manager.
I expected to receive any type of communication after the interview loop and followed up with an email to the recruiter 2 weeks after, but no reply. It was the first time I was ghosted by a company, and I found it to be very disrespectful. There are a few minimal expectations about candidate experience and the time invested in an interview process, including a long interview loop, requires at least an automatic email with a rejection. Very disrespectful.
