The interviewer acted in a very strange manner from start to finish. He would attempt to "quiz" me on facts from my resume, such as the months I started and left positions. He would allow people to come in for interviews without actually scheduling them, so a man came in to interview in the middle of my interview. I felt awkward as he went to the back to wait for us to be done. Despite this, the interviewer appeared to like me and told me to call back at the start of the following week to check in if I hadn't heard anything from him yet. As I was saying thank you and good bye on the way to the door, the man who'd come to also interview earlier suddenly was in a rush to leave too and his hurrying out the door at the same time as me made the atmosphere awkward again. The interviewer had made comments making it seem he was proud to be interviewing as many random people as he possibly could, which struck me as strange. The next week when I called to check in, at first he sounded confused and actually said "I thought I called you yesterday." I paused a moment, shocked, then told him he had not. His tone suddenly changed to a flat one and he simply said "I gave the job to someone else." I told him alright, thank you and hung up. It was a truly bizarre and unprofessional experience.
