I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Stanford University in Mar 2013
Interview
Waster of time. Most of the positions are "pre-filled." If offered a position, make sure to review your job duties or you will end up doing all the work for a department. Interviewers are unsure about the questions they ask and you probably know more than they do about the positions' responsibilities and outcomes.

Question 1
Do you have any questions for us (15 minutes into the interview)?
I applied online. I interviewed at Stanford University (Palo Alto, CA) in Jan 2026
Interview
Lengthy
Applied on 12/26 and went through 7 interviews - they then asked for SEVEN references along with an email that I was a finalist, to then saying sorry we are keeping the position open for more candidates
So you wasted my references

Question 1
Give me a scenario of what you would do if there was a critical task and you could. Not get ahold of your director
I applied in-person. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Stanford University (Palo Alto, CA) in Jan 2025
Interview
Extremely lengthy, took around 5-6 weeks that consisted of 7 different interviews zoom and in person. When making it to the final, they asked for references (SEVEN) they then took another week to reply and say they were keeping the postion open
Expect a long drawn out interview process. Sometimes it is shorter. Stanford does not move quickly with most things. Be patient. Keep in touch with recruiter. Be sure to share that you want stability and are interested long term.
