I applied online. About a month later I received a call asking to set up an interview for the following day. When I first arrived I was offered a free drink of my choice, and then was lead to a table with two interviewers. The assistant manager, and a manager from another store. They were very friendly and we sat down to begin the interview. I was asked general questions starting with," Tell me about yourself" and then continued on with situation questions from my previous jobs. The interview lasted about 30 minutes, and I was very happy with how I did. I was told I would hear from them by Thursday. Sure enough I received a call on Thursday and was asked to set up a SECOND INTERVIEW with another store manager. I was told it was their company policy to interview with two different managers. The following day I drove to a new location and walked into my interview. This time I was offered a water or "anything". I accepted the water. The manager "was obviously working and told me to grab the closest seat before it got snatched up. I sat down and she headed over a few minutes later. This interview was very casual. It felt nothing like the first. She told me about why she enjoys working for Starbucks, and did throw in a few questions such as "Why Starbucks" and "why do you think you'd be a good fit here". She seemed very distracted because there was an issue going on within the store, a lock had broke. Though she seemed distracted I thought our interview went well. She asked me when I could start, and told me the manager at the other store seemed " very interested". After our interview was over she asked if I wanted a drink and I accepted. She told me she was going to e-mail the other manager and I'd know by Monday. Yesterday I got a call telling me, " We appreciate you taking the time to interview with us, but we are going to move forward with another candidate." Stunned, I just said, " oh, okay thank you". I was so surprised. I should have asked what I could have done to improve. I thought I was going to get the position.
