      Barista Interview

      Dec 10, 2012
      Anonymous employee
      Charlotte, NC
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Starbucks (Charlotte, NC) in Dec 2012

      Interview

Filled out an application online..Called the store 3 days later asking to check on the status of my application. She had me come in that day for an interview. We sat at one of the tables and she reviewed my online application, then asked about 5-6 questions (all dealing with past situations at work as far as how I handled them) She also went over all the benefits of working there and sort of explained what its like to work at her particular store....She really liked me and wanted me to meet with the other store manager down the street that same evening (its protocol for them to have you meet with 2 different managers before being considered) He wasn't available that night but I ended up meeting with him that next day and basically did the same thing with him. He explained to me that he started as a barista and now was the manager. He also explained that Starbucks is a pretty cool company to work for etc etc....They both seemed to really like me,and he explained that he would be meeting with her after he got off to discuss my interview....She called me 2 days later offering me the job! She explained she would have to send out a background check and then I'd have to fill out paperwork. After that I should be starting in about a week! (:

The interview felt rushed and disorganized. The interviewer seemed distracted, asked repetitive questions, and didn’t clearly explain the role or next steps. Overall, it left a poor impression and made the hiring process feel unprofessional.
