I applied online. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Starbucks (San Francisco, CA) in May 2013
Interview
Just moved to San Franisco on April 28th and started job hunting online. Saw on Craigslist that Starbucks was hiring at multiple locations so I submitted my application online on April 30th. Got a call the next day and was to come in and interview that day at the San Francisco headquarters. Showed up with a few copies of my résumé not having prepped at all! (In hindsight I would have, but I only had an hour from the time they called to my scheduled interview time.) I was about 10 minutes early but they were waiting for me so I went right back. My interview was 2:1 and only took about 10-15 minutes. Super easy questions I might add. I had a reusable bottle with me and they asked me to sell it to them, plus stuff about former coworkers, difficult customer situations I'd dealt with, pretty straightforward. When we finished, they said they had a few more interviews to conduct and would call by the end of the week (it was a Wednesday). They called the next morning but thanks to my darn phone I didn't get it or the voicemail he left me. Friday morning got a second call back and asked if I would like to take the position pending a cleared background check. Of course I accepted with glee, and am waiting for a call once my background check goes through. Expected sometime mid next week and I start training the day after it clears!
The process was simple and easy. They asked basic interview questions and it didn't take more than 20 minutes. After the first interview, there was a second interview with similar, if not the same, questions.
Average interview asked availability and some other basic questions like tell me about yourself and what are your weaknesses but they just keep postings up even when they are not hiring
It is a pretty straight forward process. The Interview will most likely be 15 mins max. They will most likely ask you situational interview questions and your long term goals.
