      Analyst Interview

      Mar 17, 2011
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Seattle, WA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 6 months. I interviewed at Starbucks (Seattle, WA) in Jan 2011

      Interview

About 3 weeks after applying for the position online, I was contacted by HR for a phone screening. The interview lasted an hour and I was asked very general questions about my background. She advised I would be contacted by the hiring manager in a few weeks for another phone interview. The second phone interview was scheduled, 30 minutes before the call I was told that the manager could not attend and I would be speaking to someone from a different department. After that interview it took over a month for any feedback from HR as to next steps. During this time I was directed to several different people within the HR department as they were going through some changes. After about 4 months into my initial phone screening, my phone interview with the hiring manager was re-scheduled. 2 weeks after my phone interview I was invited to fly to Seattle for a personal meeting. During my meeting I met with 7 different people from different cross-functional departments. Each session was 1 hour long and lasted all day. About a month later I was told they were not hiring for this position at this time, but to keep in touch for future positions. In total the process took over 6 months. My advise would be, if you need a job fast, look else where.

      Interview

There were a couple of "describe a situation in which" (from work experience) type of questions. Nothing major and all relevant for the position at hand. The interviewer was conversational.
