I applied online in June. Two days later, I received a request to take an assessment test. The assessment test simulates a call center environment and there is a typing and data entry test. Ten days after that, I received a link to schedule a phone interview. I interviewed with a recruiter named Michael, he was extremely nice and understanding.
USE THE STAR METHOD. Have a list of common STAR interview questions and your own answers prepared. When asked if you have questions, have 4-5 questions ready to ask so you sound interested. Also tell them what you know about State Farm. He offered me the position after our phone interview, which I accepted. Some people have to do an in-person interview but I guess he liked my answers and how prepared I was to offer the job right away contingent on background check/drug test. A couple days later I received a link to begin the background check.
The background check is done by HireRight. They verified address history, employment history, SSN & credit, and education. If they can't verify your information they will ask for proof (W2's, transcripts, etc). You must also pass a drug test. Once everything was completed, they called to give me my final job offer.
