So I apply to State Farm at the beginning of January. I received a email with a series of emails stating that I needed to complete assessments. After completing the assessments I received email stating thank you for successfully completing the assessments we will be moving forward in the next process of the hiring process and if a member of HR chooses to contact you you will be notified via email. So I got an email stating that I had a phone interview on February 3rd I spoke with a recruiter by the name of Carola and the interview went well. She asked situational questions such as what did you do when there was a conflict between two of your coworkers and tell me about a time when you had a difficult customer and what did you do. The interview took about 50 minutes So after completing the interview I was offered a contingent offer to come on pending the results from the background check and drug screen. Forgetting that I had been arrested early last year I expected that everything would come back without a problem, but I was called by a representative from State Farm's HR department inquiring about the arrest and was notified that they would review the information that I gave them along with the other information from the background check. It was about a week after that phone call that I decided to call the recruiter who interviewed me, and she then told me that based upon my background check that she could not extend to me a final offer. This is such a bummer because I was looking forward to working with State Farm and relocating back to Georgia. My advice is if you have a record let them know in the beginning that way there are no surprises while they are processing the background check.
