I applied online. I interviewed at State Street (Kraków) in Mar 2025
Interview
The recruitment process for a Junior Fund Accountant position was quite drawn out and ultimately disappointing. It consisted of two main stages over the course of more than a month.
The initial screening was a brief phone call focusing on my motivation and basic background. However, the experience was hindered by significant communication barriers. The recruiter was calling from an offshore location (India), and due to a very poor network connection and a heavy accent, it was difficult to maintain a clear dialogue, despite my high level of English proficiency.
A month later, I had a 30-minute Zoom interview with another recruiter. The discussion was straightforward, covering salary expectations, motivation, and prior experience, which felt appropriate for a junior-level role. Following this, I was told my performance was excellent and was asked to submit all necessary documentation for the hiring and onboarding process. I was under the impression that the final step was simply signing the contract.
Unfortunately, after a week of silence, I received a generic rejection email stating they had chosen another candidate. Being dropped at the final administrative stage without any explanation or feedback felt unprofessional and left a negative impression of their internal coordination.
