The recruitment process at State Street is usually well organized and professional. It often starts with an online application, followed by a phone or video interview. Recruiters are friendly and ask questions about your experience, motivation, and teamwork skills. Many candidates say the interview is relaxed and focused on behavioral questions rather than technical ones. I applied online. I interviewed at State Street in Jan 2026
Interview
The process was fairly smooth. I was first reached out through a phone call through HR, who asked simple screening questions, such as whether I was still interested in the opportunity, my availability, etc. After that initial call, it took around a week for them to invite me for an interview. The interview was laid back as it was conversational with no technical questions asked. They just want to get to know you--what you do in school, outside of school, hobbies, and interest. Two back to back interviews with senior managers with of the firm. Be sure to come prepared with a lot of questions about State Street and why this field/position.
