I originally applied for a copywriting position around late November 2015 - early December 2015, but by March 2016 I received an email from a Stitch Fix recruiter saying that the company would like to consider me for an editorial coordinator position instead. We scheduled a phone interview for later that month. However on the day of my scheduled interview, my recruiter did not call me on time. Confused, because the interview schedule specified the exact time and time zone, I contacted her via email and she asked if she could move the interview back two hours. I agreed, but two hours came and went and there was no phone call. I emailed my recruiter again to confirm if she had the right number or wanted to reschedule and never received a response back. Complete silence. Yet today, over two months after the scheduled interview that never was, I got an email from Stitch Fix stating that they did not think I would be a good fit for the copywriting position I originally applied for! As if I hadn't already gotten that information from our previous email correspondence. This entire experience has led me to believe that not only is Stitch Fix's recruiting process sloppy and inefficient, but that their recruiters have very little respect for their potential candidates. I extensively researched Stitch Fix and set aside nearly five hours of my day in an attempt to talk to this recruiter in an interview, but I didn't receive even a cursory email canceling our interview. I would be extremely hesitant to apply to any position with Stitch Fix in the future and would certainly not recommend the company to any of my friends or colleagues after this experience.
