I am going to start this by saying I did not get an offer, that isn’t the issue. I have gotten multiple rejections and never once did I even think to complain in any way. My issue is the unprofessional behavior that I was shown during the process. I was approached on a Tuesday to schedule an interview. I was blessed to have, at that moment, a pretty open schedule. As such I told the recruiter that I was open to any time that was the most convenient for *him*. We then scheduled for that coming Friday at a time he chose, and all was well. Friday came along, I had declined other plans by family and friends at this point in order to be prepared and attend the interview. I had spent several hours researching the company, from reading reviews on here to deep diving the company website. I was nervous, but felt ready, that is until 45 minutes before the interview was to start… The recruiter asked me if we could reschedule, vaguely citing some important meeting he has to attend. I was disappointed and more than a little frustrated at the rather short notice, but I gave him the benefit of the doubt and eagerly asked if we could do it on the next business day. No answer. I emailed him again later in the day asking the same thing, no answer… In all I left three emails, a voicemail, and a LinkedIn message throughout the next week to reschedule this interview. I had kept my schedule clear, only to be continually ghosted. Eventually, over a week later. I received a messaged on LinkedIn stating a vague apology for the delay. Something something about how the timing wasn’t right for the company and that others had moved on in the interview process, landing one of the them the job. Again, I am not angry or upset I didn’t get the offer. If this is how the company treats candidates I am not sure I would even *want* an offer. But Storable held me hostage for over a week hoping for the interview they reached out for, only to be rejected without even getting to speak to anyone. That is flat out unprofessional. I hope this is a one off. I hope no one else has to deal with this mess. Looking for a job is difficult in these times. Getting a candidate’s hopes up, only to leave them hanging, to ghost them, is wrong. If he had rescheduled the phone call and then told me after they had gone with someone else, I wouldn’t be writing this review. Simple as that. Be better.
