The process was a phone screen interview, followed by a shared screen coding interview, followed by an all day on-site interview. I interviewed for the Senior Android Engineer job in Denver but since their Denver office has not been set yet they had me interview in San Francisco. I really enjoyed the interview process and talking with the team. They seem like a great group of people and I really liked the culture they have put together. I don't have a lot of experience interviewing and I think that really hurt my chances with this job. I found that coding in front of people while they judge your every move is very uncomfortable and much more difficult than coding in a normal job scenario. This is not their fault at all as I know most companies do this but I feel like I would have done much better if they just gave me a really complex problem to work on over the weekend rather than working on simple coding problems while being judged. It was just extremely distracting and made hard to focus on the problem at hand. The overall interview process was smooth but they did have some issues with the machine they had me perform the code test on. Not only did the machine not work but it was old and small so there was not a lot of screen real estate to work with making a stressful situation even more stressful. Besides this I really enjoyed the rest of the interviews and while disappointed that I didn't get an offer I am grateful that I was considered and it was a good learning experience.
