I applied for a role in Singapore and was contacted by a recruiter (AA) from the India team. Unfortunately, my experience with the process was not positive.
1. Recruiter communication
From the start, communication was inconsistent. Before our scheduled HR call, the recruiter mentioned that I should “call him if he forgot,” which struck me as unusual for a professional interview process. Unfortunately, he did not attend the call as planned, and I only heard back the following week. After that, most updates or confirmations came very last minute, often only after I followed up.
2. Interview rounds
The first interview was described as a hiring manager round, but it turned out to be a peer interview. I only discovered this during the session itself, since the recruiter confirmed it only afterward. I still invested effort into the assignment, passed it, and was told I would move to the panel round. At that stage, the recruiter asked for my availability, which I provided on the same day. However, even after a week and after sending follow-ups, I never received a response.
3. Lack of closure
Eventually, I saw that the role was closed without any communication from the recruiter, leaving me without clarity or closure.
4. Overall impression
I understand others may have had positive experiences, and I respect that. However, in my case, the process felt disorganized and left me with the impression that candidate experience was not prioritized. I hope the company addresses this, as the interview process reflects the professionalism of the organization.
