      Recruiting Coordinator Interview

      Dec 22, 2020
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Stripe

      Interview

I interviewed for the RC role. It’s a 4 part interview process consisting of a phone screen that goes very quickly and has the usual questions (tell me about yourself, tell me about a time you made a mistake and what you learned from that, what makes you excited about this role, etc.), a written take home, an interview with 2 current RCs, and a final round with more of the team. The written exercise is a little bit of a trick question — I think they probably have different templates to pull from for interviewees, but mine was a set of three cold emails sent to the career email and I had to craft a response. They’re emails a lot of very busy companies couldn’t and wouldn’t have time for, so it felt like a trick question, but if you comb over every resource they send you, you’ll do fine with a quick paragraph addressing the specific questions, and a canned response that directs them to the careers page. Use some of the language from the auto response email you receive when you first applied for the job. The third round interview was lukewarm. I was nervous and had received next to no information about it beforehand other than it would consist of a prioritization exercise, a written assignment, and a role play exercise. They do this to see how you react to situations on the fly, except it’s a poor way to judge how people deal with the day to day. The interviewers were... nice. It started slightly late, which was fine because as a recruiter I know the day in and day out of it, but by the time the end came, I got to ask all of 2 questions before being cut off (which wouldn’t have made an impression except the interviewer who had stuck around for that talked for 5-7 minutes each time and effectively ate up all the time talking about themselves... I did ask a question about them, but with being conscious of time being such an important part of the role, it left an impression). I think they have a very sleek and shiny interview process, but it’s not as fine tuned as it could be, and I wonder if it’s getting them the results they really want/need in terms of longevity and dedication. Looking through some reviews and interview recaps here, it looks like there may be trouble in paradise. I haven’t yet received my rejection email, and honestly don’t think I ever will based on what I see here. Good luck if you consider applying!

Had a brief 30 minute "behavioral" phonically interview. A couple days later I got an email saying they were not moving forward. I did not get any real feedback on why I was not selected to move on to the next round.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Stripe (Seattle, WA) in Mar 2022

      Interview

I applied through the stripe site and was contacted within a few days to set up an interview through a scheduling tool- the interviewer ended up having to reschedule just prior to our meeting, but we did finally connect. Initial interview was pretty basic with general questions, the interviewer was personable and gave me a take home test consisting of composing answers to a series of emails to be completed in three business days. I was not able to submit my test to the link provided as it was no longer active after 1 day, so I emailed it to the recruiter as indicated if there were issues submitting and have not heard from them since. Stripe seemed like an interesting place to work, but the recruiting process leaves a bit to be desired.
