I applied via their online portal around the beginning of September 2019. Approximately a month later, I got a phone call from HR. We arranged a telephone interview a couple of days later. Phone interview went smooth and the HR guy told me that I fit the profile of the candidate they were looking for. He arranged for me to take the Gallup phone test a couple of days later. The whole procedure was moving quite fast and HR was being "thankful for my flexibility in order to finish the whole process fast". I took the Gallup test (consisted of an hour of personality questions) and the next day I got an email invitation for two panel interviews at Stryker HQ in Amsterdam, one with the directors of the department I was applying for and one with two members of the team I would be working with. Both interviews went really smooth and they consisted of personality questions, "walk-me-through-your-resume" questions and general ambitions and aspirations questions. I had the feeling that everything was going very well, both the directors and the (potential) team members seemed to be enjoying our talk. I left the HQ in high spirits, confident that I had a good chance to get the position. Exactly 8 calendar days after the panel interviews, I got a call from the HR guy. He told me that the directors were very positive about my interview and that I was the only guy, among the other candidates they had interviewed so far, they decided to go forward with. He added that they would be interviewing another candidate in the coming days. I asked when I would receive an answer regarding my application. I quote: "End of this week, end of next week at the latest. The directors want to move the process fast". And that was the last time I ever heard from Stryker since. It has now been more than a month since the last phone call with the HR person and the company has maintained radio silence on me. I have sent an e-mail, given them calls and left a voice message. I even sent a LinkedIn message to one of the team members to inquire about the status of my application or if the position has been filled but nobody has ever gotten back to me. I consider this behaviour highly unprofessional, if not downright disrespectful. In case of rejection, a simple 3-line mail would have sufficed. Ghosting is downright unacceptable.
