      Staff Quality Engineer Interview

      Jan 20, 2020
      Anonymous employee
      Leesburg, VA
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Stryker (Leesburg, VA) in Sep 2019

      Interview

Very smooth process. The recruiter kept me well informed every step of the way and explained what to expect for the schedules interviews and background checks. First had a phone screen with recruiter and hiring manager. Then I was asked to take a gallup assessment 40 - 50 min phone screening that determines your personality type. After passing the gallup I was then asked to come for an onsite interview. Then after about 10 days I received an offer letter. Not that during the 10 days the recruiter kept sending me updates of where everything was.

      Application

The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Stryker (Salt Lake City, UT)

      Interview

I had a somewhat mixed experience, more negative! The talent acquisition team was very professional and helpful. In contrast the hiring managers were inconsiderate of my time and were unsure about what they were looking for in a candidate. They called me not once but twice for an on site ( wasting two days of my life) They did not even acknowledge the inconvenience to me due to getting locations mixed up for the interview. In contrast the group of senior engineers and the manager in operations and HR asked me clear purposeful questions about my background and experience. When I contacted the recruiter for feedback, I was told the panel really liked me but could not tell why the hiring managers turned me down. There was no reason! I was clearly the top of the crop for the position exceeding all the requirements. At this point I can only think they had no immediate need to fill the positions. They wasted my time in this process. My advice to anyone interviewing with Stryker is to make doubly sure if they are really keen on hiring and not just wasting a hopeful’s time.
