I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Sun Life in Feb 2024
Interview
Phone screen with recruiter --> Interview with hiring manager --> Panel interview with team --> Final interview with AVP.
Enjoyable conversations and everyone here is very welcoming and warm. They ultimately went with another candidate as this was a very competitive position, but I learned a lot and I appreciated the consistent communication from both the hiring team and the recruiter throughout. I never had to wait more than a week between updates and their final rejection email was warm and professional.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Tell me about a time when you had to pivot unexpectedly and go in a different direction from before.
Straightforward - met with HR, then met with the hiring manager and peers. The questions were expected. Some behavioural and some technical. Overall, it was pretty average. The interviews were over zoom, so it was convenient to take.
Applied online - recruiter screening call - hiring manager interview - skip level interview - final interview from a leader in a different team. Whole process took about a month from the start of the recruiter call.
Screening call, 3 rounds of interviews with senior management. Standard q&as about work experience. Generally easy and pleasant interview process altogether. Be ready with questions at the end of the interview.
