After a few missed phone interviews (she couldn't figure out the time difference between San Jose and Texas), finally connected with the recruiter. Did phone interviews with VP, directors. Was asked to interview in person (3 hour block). Day before, I confirmed with the recruiter and was told it needed to be rescheduled. Day of rescheduled interview (2 hours before), was told the schedule changed and now had a 30 minute "break" in the schedule, keeping me there 30 minutes longer. Mad shuffle to rearrange my schedule at work, but I did and was there 10 minutes early to check in as they requested.
Interview started 25 minutes late and the next person had a hard stop, so after 35 minutes of active interview time I was on a "break" in a conference room. Next guy was 20 minutes late, stretching my "break" to 50 minutes--what a waste!
While I had good discussions with a few, they were mostly unprepared and seemed put out to meet with me. One spent the time telling me about his role and didn't ask me anything.
I followed up with an email to the recruiter and hiring manager to let them know I had taken another position and thanked them for the opportunity. No response. Complete lack of consideration for a candidate's time and no professional courtesy.
