Interview
Applied, went into an interview within a week. It was extremely informal. The general manager "didn't believe" in formal interviews and we just chatted about my availability and expectations of the job. She said the job was super easy and she enjoyed my company so I would be hearing back from her. She did express that a current coworker of mine was a former employee of Sunglass Hut and was not welcome back. I heard later that my coworker and this manager got in an argument completely unrelated to me and she decided not to call me back. I was extremely turned off by this unprofessional attitude. Not only was she EXTREMELY informal (even being liberal with her cursing during the "interview"), the fact that she refused to call me back because of a disagreement with my coworker that I had NOTHING to do with, I did not even want to work for this company.
I applied online. I interviewed at Sunglass Hut (Burbank, CA) in Jun 2026
Interview
The process was really smooth with the manager. They essential asked a couple things about myself and gave a run down about the company. They also let me know some things about themselves and about the team they have already.
Asked about experience, situational questions (was there ever a time where), if I'm interested in fashion, and register skills. Then the second in person part was role playing approaching a customer, giving advice, and testing a little knowledge about sunglasses like shapes and color theory.
