I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Sylvan Learning Centers in Jan 2018
Interview
I am a qualified teacher who just moved to a new area and was looking for a job to help fill the gaps in substitute teaching. The interview went extremely well. I had never in my life felt so good during or after an interview. The questions were all very easy typical teaching questions and the interviewer openly agreed and liked my answers. He was forward with telling me he was interviewing me and one other person and was confident that unless the next person blew his mind, I would be hired and he would let me know bybthe end of the day. I assumed, as I never heard from him again, (rude considering there were only 2 candidates and correspondence was done via email) the other person blew his mind, which is fair. Except 3 days later they reposted the job.... Please, if you're not planning on hiring someone, don't make them feel like you will. It feels worse than having a bad interview because at least then you know what you did wrong.

I interviewed at Sylvan Learning Centers (Ocala, FL)
Interview
it was two virtual interviews about my background and how I would handle certain situations such as if a student struggles with reading how would you approach an assignment to make sure they are engaged with the question and also practices on their reading.
It was a virtual interview and I was given a Zoom link prior. The interview was professional and quick. The interview started immediately and lasted about 25 minutes. In addition, there was room for questions at the end.
It’s a list of questions that pertain to your educational experiences and professional experiences. It’s important to mention how you will ensure the kids are meeting their learning goals. It’s also good to think about how you will deal with time management, as kids learn at different paces and there are different needs.
