I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Target in Aug 2013
Interview
I applied to Target on a Monday at the indoor application computer kiosk near guest services. I didn't expect to get called back because I had applied at Target various times before and never heard back. To my surprise, the very next day I received a call scheduling me for an over-the-phone interview for that Friday. During the phone interview they asked the same basic questions that are posted on Glassdoor (which helped me prepare for my interview). Also during the over the phone interview the Target RedCards were explained to me and I was asked if I would be okay with offering them to customers. After the interview I was scheduled for an in-person interview the following Tuesday. At the in-person interview I filled out a situational, multiple choice test on the computer kiosks asking what would be the best and worst response to a possible in store situation. I then went to the target team members backroom and waited about 5 minutes until I had my interview with HR. I was taken to the training room to watch a 5 minute video on Target's store policy and then was offered the job after answering more questions that were, again, already posted on Glassdoor. I was given drug test information, passed the test, and have my orientation this Friday. Process took about a week. Everyone that interviewed me was very friendly and I felt completely comfortable talking and even joking around during the in person portion. Just remember to smile, be friendly, and well-spoken. Their motto is fun, fast, and friendly :)

Was just a quick 10 minute call from the store manager, didn't take long at all. He asked if I had the availability he was looking for and if I could be punctual. Smooth process
It was overall very brief from applying to hearing back. Was just a day of meeting with a couple managers and talking through a cashier job. Nothing too out of the ordinary for a role like this.
It was interesting. Not hard at all, straightforward, and pretty open people. It was an okay interview and what you’d typically expect. So don’t stress stress it, I mean kinda try your best
