I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Target (Ames, IA) in Nov 2012
Interview
I turned in an application and received a call about a week later asking to set up an interview. When I came in I had to fill out a questionnaire before meeting with a Guest Service Team Lead. We then went into the back room and he asked me a few questions; Give an example of a situation during a past job experience where you had to be a leader, where you solved a customers problem, and where you had to remain calm under a stressful situation.
After interviewing with him, an HR member came and asked me similar questions then told me I was hired and set up an orientation time.

Question 1
I think coming up with a good example of solving a customer complaint was difficult as I've never had a position where I was immediately responsible to help issues, so I was only able to hand it off to a supervisor and apologize.
Was just a quick 10 minute call from the store manager, didn't take long at all. He asked if I had the availability he was looking for and if I could be punctual. Smooth process
It was overall very brief from applying to hearing back. Was just a day of meeting with a couple managers and talking through a cashier job. Nothing too out of the ordinary for a role like this.
It was interesting. Not hard at all, straightforward, and pretty open people. It was an okay interview and what you’d typically expect. So don’t stress stress it, I mean kinda try your best
