Initial phone screen from HR, asked questions about resume. Then given a list of fresh openings. HR person/recruiter was very kind, advocated for me to hiring managers. Interacting with them was unfortunately the highlight of the interview process. I prioritized 3 openings, and the HR rep sent my resume to my top listing's hiring manager. They reached out and scheduled a round 1, observed technical interview (SQL query syntax). I had been honest on my cover letter that I did not have SQL experience, and when I reminded them of this and asked if I could Google syntax, or ask for help, they said to just do my best. I essentially twiddled my thumbs for 30 minutes. Afterwards, I recieved an email from the HR rep that they were no longer considering my for hire, I responded and asked if I could do the 3rd stage technical interview, to demonstrate my actual DATA SCIENCE skills, instead of database queries. The HR rep said we would do a rebuttal, but then never responded to further communications about when this technical interview could be done. It's very clear Teladoc wants to give zero leeway in their hiring practices. They are looking for a purple squirrel, and one that works for cheap. Honestly glad it went this way, because if this is how they treat their employees, then I don't think anyone should aspire to work there. Very dangerous behavior from a company which all but has a monopoly on telehealth.
