I had a short interview with a recruiter and was passed along to the hiring manager. After our interview, she said she'd send me a test as well as the log-in information to access the materials of the program I'd be working on.
I received the test right after but not the log in. I replied to the email (which included the recruiter) and asked for the log-in information. I didn't receive it until four days later on the day the test was due. She barely apologized, saying she had been out of town. You would think that given this was a work day, she'd offer an extension. Nothing. Luckily, I had spent hours digging and was able to find another code myself to log in to the program prior to her email.
I turned the test in shortly after that email. I didn't receive any confirmation or thank you. A few days later, I wrote them both again (hiring manager and recruiter) to ask they confirm they received it. Not a peep. A day or two later, I got the standard rejection email that comes through the main email.
What's hilarious is during the interview, she talked about how "compassionate" of a team they are and this team works in mental health. Can you imagine working in mental health and treating people this way? It's evident they had their mind made up before I even received the test, so don't waste my time. But more than that, it's not hard to respond to an email and say thank you (ya know for taking the time to complete your test and hours finding my own log in!) and that you'll be in touch soon. It takes five seconds. I've done a lot of interviews in my life, and I've encountered my fair share of rudeness and ghosting, but this one takes the cake. To flat out ignore two emails. I'd say I dodged a bullet.
