1) Phone interview with hiring manager where they asked some technical questions 2) Onsite interview where they ask you to put together a presentation for 6+ staff level engineers to review 3) 6x 1 on 1 interviews with staff level engineers on the design team and operations teams It seems like Tesla is pulling a gimmick where they ask you to revise your presentation at the last minute before your onsite interview. They are pulling this stunt on multiple people to see how much of a 'yes man' or 'tesla fan boi' you are I suppose. I personally refused to revise my presentation but other people did choose to make changes at their request. I'm not going to beg them for a job. One staff level engineer proceeded to ask me a bunch of specific mechanical questions that were a bit of a stretch outside of chemical engineering design scope including types of mechanical welds on piping and pipe support requirements. These specifications seemed more tailored to a mechanical engineer in my opinion or perhaps I wasn't what they wanted. The questions were asked rapid fire back to back without any feedback or rapport. This was pretty terrible as most interviewers want to have a conversation about your experience or a technical concept. This guy may as well have asked me to take a multiple choice exam instead of wasting our time.
