I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Tesla (Shanghai, Shanghai) in Mar 2023
Interview
Multiple step process which took ~3 months:
- Contacted on LinkedIn, then 30 minutes video meeting with Tesla recruiter
- Took part into an online leetcode and reasoning exercise, 1 hour time limit
- Remote review of exercise with team lead, 1 hour
- 6x40 minutes interview with multiple team members (thus ~6 hours)
- Tesla HR told me I am the correct fit and they'll seek the final approval from Elon Musk himself. Told it was just a formality, then never heard from her again.
- After another month and a couple of solicits, I get in touch with the team lead on Linkedin, which confirms they're no longer hiring for the role.
Negative experience due to very long and redundant process, as well as the HR ghosting on the final step.
