      Application

I applied online. The process took 6 days. I interviewed at The Buckle (Knoxville, TN) in Sep 2012

      Interview

I applied online as all people do, the next day I got an email calling to setup and interview which I did the following monday. I went in was greeted professionally by the manager who told me to look around and she'd be with as soon as possible. I waited about 15-20 minutes for her to come back out, not a big deal I wasn't in a hurry. We then had the interview out on the floor in the mens clothing section, She said this was to make people feel more comfortable. I was nervous anyways and stumbled a bit over my words, not sure if this hurt my chances or not, but it's worth noting. She then went over my application questioned me on my previous employment experience asked me what my hobbies were things of that nature. All in wall the interview was probably about 10 minutes long. She was friendly and professional yet kept a relaxed and more friend like composure, yet I couldn't help but get the feeling I was being judged about more than what was on my application, I was dressed nice obviously, this is a retail store job but I know these places can be a bit shallow when it comes to appearance, I am not a bad looking guy but the stress of finding a job lately has led to some breakouts, a normal human function. Perhaps that's just me being self conscious. I think at the end of the day my lack of retail experience is probably what killed my chances. I have plenty of customer service experience so to speak, but i think this may be a classic case didn't have any direct retail experience. I got an email two days later saying that I did not get the job. All things considered things were handled professionally so I can';t say this was a bad interview.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Employment Experience, they ask you how would your former supervisor describe your work ethic, and I recently got terminated from a job and they were curious about why? I just answered honestly and told them it was incidental stuff, and would debate the fairness of the situation. She didn't seem to have an opinion of this one way or the other towards me.
