I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at The Buckle (Humble, TX) in Jun 2012
Interview
The application is online, and you have to pass the personality assessment in order to even continue the process. It doesn't matter if an employee or manager referred you or not, they just get a bonus if you get hired and they did. Once you complete the application, they will send you an email giving the stores information and telling you to call the store to set up an interview. EVERYONE IS GUARANTEED AN INTERVIEW. As long as you pass the personality assessment. Dress as Buckle-y as you can. Not just brand-wise, but looks. I didn't wear a single thing from Buckle to my interview and was still hired. I just dressed like some of their mannequins or models looked. Most interviews will take place on the sales floor, so be prepared to stand for at least 10-15 minutes, and the other employees will probably look over at you occasionally. The manager will probably ask you some questions that were on your application, but answer them. It's a pretty simple interview that doesn't take long. My manager then gave me a date to hear back from her by, where she would call and tell me if I did or did not get the job. After getting hired, I had to come in to fill out some paperwork (which you get paid for), and set up a time before my actual first day to do a "Get-Fit", which is where they will pull you a couple outfits and you will try them on and show them, and they will explain why they picked those things and different ways you could wear them, so you get familiar with the product before your first day.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Asked things like why I wanted to work at Buckle, how my style is compared to what they sell at Buckle, what did I dislike most about my last job, if I was going to school or had any plans for the holidays, etc. It was all pretty regularly asked interview questions.
Super quick and easy. The woman who interviews me was very kind and understanding to it being my first retail job. I was offered a job on the spot and was able to ask any lingering questions I had about the role and profession.

Question 1
How well do you do interacting with people you do not know?
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at The Buckle (Little Rock, AR) in Mar 2026
Interview
Very simple. No behaviour questions. It was basically all about me. We talked about hobbies, availability, college plans. It was like a fun conversation and not a hard, daunting, scary interview.

Interview
They bring you in to ask basic interview questions. Make sure you completely dress the part. I was told before the interview by an associate that I should wear clothes they sell there. She didn't go into detail but I take that as they won't hire you if you don't.
