Unbelievably disrespectful in the interview and offer process. I was told early on that they would only request my references if there was an intent to hire. I went through three rounds of interviews (all went well) and a reference check (I have good relationships with my references and know they would not say negative things about me), followed by silence. I continually followed up and received vague responses about their excitement about moving forward in the hiring process and how they would contact me about next steps. I know things are shaky right now in the research world so I gave them a couple weeks and followed up again, only for them to respond with a vaguely worded form-letter rejection. I asked for clarification and received basically the same letter copied and pasted. I am appalled at this treatment of candidates--they indicated they were going to hire me, strung me along, and then essentially ghosted me. Absolutely disrespectful to candidates and their time.
