Applied online and was contacted by HR for a quick screen which was simple and easy. Then I chatted with the lab PI over the phone and explained my research experience and answered easy questions. The on-sight interview was barely an interview and more of an opportunity to tell me about the lab and convince me to join!
1st - round was normal HR call, basic details related to job and familiarity with the designation.
2nd - round was taken by the Main person who wants to hire, in my case professor.
Asked about what experiemts I have done and some details related to that (online) (PCR, Western, Cell culture, etc)
3rd - in person interview with all lab members and other professors.
