I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at The Knot Worldwide (New York, NY) in Mar 2021
Interview
A recruiter contacted me and we spoke for ~45min. The conversation was good and she proceeded to schedule an interview with one of the team leaders. When I asked what type of interview it would be and if I needed to prepare for anything technical, she said no that it was an intro and he would probably ask some questions about my technical background.
Had the interview with the EM a few days later, where we talked about the role and the company, and he asked me some easy React questions in addition to a more involved OOP system design question. I wasn't expecting this due to what I was told about the interview plus the fact that we only had 30 minutes and we were already around the 25min mark at this point. Regardless, I thought I answered the question pretty well given the time constraint and he seemed satisfied.
Well - they completely ghosted me even after I followed up to thank them and ask for feedback abut what I could do better in the future.
Shouldn't have to say this but ghosting candidates who take time out of their work day to interview for you is so insanely unprofessional. Unfortunately it happens all the time in the tech world. Just disappointing.
