Your interview will usually be 2-part between an Assistant and Store Manager. I would have to say before you interview make sure you remember what you wrote about your journey to health and wellness (that paragraph that was in the online application) so that way your story matches up. They'll ask you the standard retail interview questions like; what makes you a good candidate, how would you handle or how have you handled an angry customer, etc. I would recommend as a general idea to always answer problem solving ?s like those in a Feel, Felt, Found way. "I know how you feel, I have felt the same way, lets see what we can find or what I have found to help solve your problem together." They will whip a few questions at you that are scenario based and it will be like; You're in the store and your coworker has left for lunch, you are helping someone pick out protein powders and you see someone is at the register, at that moment another client walks up to ask you a question, what do you do? OK, this one kinda sucks so make sure you keep this in mind Safety, Security, Sales. You want to go to the register after you pardon yourself from the customer looking at protein and as you're walking ask the lady who came up (rude af) and interrupted you to wait just a moment to receive some help. If she seems urgent (which some customers can be) then you'd politely direct her to use the in store computer to gain some knowledge while still heading to the registers. On a final note, make sure are confident and relate-able because that's who they want working for them, do not come in there with 1-sided "my or the idiot-highway" views because I've seen super-knowledgeable athletic individuals get turned away because they came off militant, aggressive, and potentially rude to customers who don't share their raw/paleo/vegan/crossfitting/yoga/UFC/triathlete/beast-mode way of fitness (I don't care if you are any of those but if its all you think works for being healthy then you're not gonna fit in this store, trust me). All in all be diverse, get their early to scan the store, even visit and meet the staff so if they have any say you can be a name in their head, ask a ton of questions, get to know their brands, and ALWAYS BE OPEN IN YOUR SCHEDULING or at least talk about your great availability.
P.S.
If you dont get the drug test done you can NEVER be hired on with them. No matter what.
