I had one interview with the current Director. She contacted my by phone and did a brief phone interview, asking about my past experience in childcare and my education. She then invited me for an in-person interview the same week. The interview consisted of a lot of situational questions. Examples of these were, "A lot of the teaching staff has been here for years, how do you come in to a leadership role where you are new?", "A child comes to you after being stung by a bee, what is your reaction and what do you do?". More questions involved my education and exactly how long I had been in childcare, plus the amount of hours I completed during schoolwork. I brought an unofficial copy of my transcripts because they wanted to see that I had certain administration classes as well as units in a school-age setting. The Director mentoned that they really wanted 4-5 years experience and the pay offered would be $14-$15.
