Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The YMCA was great to work for. Nothing difficult in questions before employment. I was happy to be asked for a flexible schedule set up, which opened the door for me to earn more hours. Difficulty was found when the membership director would have me forward phone calls to their voicemail, but the mailbox was full about 85% of the time, making customers furious with me. Making it also seem like I was lying because of their constant unavailability.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at The Y (YMCA) (Burlington, VT) in Aug 2025
Interview
I had a fairly smooth interview process, which went well and resulted in my receiving the job. When I provided my four references for the entry-level unskilled job, they never followed up with the people. Very unprofessional, stating I received the job and did not follow up on their part.
Talked about previous work experience in the fitness industry. Asked about organizational skills. Scenarios given to assess how to handle customers and coworkers. Given tour of facility. Job offer was given on the spot.
