This has got to be one of the worst interviews I've had in my professional career. I wish that was hyperbole. I was initially contacted on LinkedIn by a recruiter at the beginning of April. Initial call went well and I was excited to continue forward. He told me his scheduling assistant (CCed on the email mind you), would set up the next stages. That's where communication stopped. Neither responded to emails or LinkedIn messages over the next two weeks, so I wrote it off.
Flash forward to mid May now, and the assistant finally responds. In that time, I also received the generic rejection email. So I was confused but still moved forward with the interview. And this is where it goes off because I was interviewed for a position in no way similar to what I had been recruiter. The interviewer hit hard on data analytics and I was under the impression it was for a B2B marketing writer role. Both of our times were wasted and she (the hiring manager/interviewer) hung up as I was in the middle of talking. An unpleasant hiring manager is nothing new to the world, but a rude and unprepared one like her is unacceptable.
With both the wrong position and poor people skills of the hiring manager, I immediately emailed the recruiter and withdrew myself. My time was wasted and this is a bad view of whatever the company culture is. They then decided to email yet another generic rejection email.
The app is great and revolutionary for the social media game, but the company and people behind it I can't recommend at all.
